Yalta is a beautiful port city that is situated in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, which is a territory that is very much part of southern Ukraine and North of the Black Sea.  Yalta is within close proximity to other cities such as Feodosiya, Sevastopol and Simferopol which are all also located in Crimea.  The city consists of large areas that are mountainous and is partly bordered by a breathtaking coastline.

The history of Yalta is not as lengthy as many other parts of Ukraine, however it is colorful nonetheless.  In its earlier years, many fishermen settled in the area, as well as numerous traders.  The Ottoman Empire ruled the city in 1475 and under the rule of the Russian Empire by 1773.  Yalta was therefore directly involved in the Russo-Turkish war which occurred from 1787 to 1792.  In the later years up until its modern day period, this rapidly developing city has grown to become a holiday resort for many visitors; both local and foreigners.  All with reason, because there are so many things to do and so many wonderful things to explore.

Other must-see tourist attractions are: Yalta's Aquarium, House Museum of Lesya Ukraina, Foros Church, Renovated Hotel Taurica, Yalta's Zoo, White Dacha, Swallow's Nest, Tsar's Path, International children's centre of Artek and so many more.  St. Peter peak (Ai-Petri) is a view point where visitors can have a panoramic view of the city.  A very lengthy cable car ride awaits those who are fascinated by alternative views of cityscapes with a combination of natural scenery.

Yalta tourists have recommended 5 main must-experience activities.  They are: the Chairlift which swings to Darsan, Outdoor Ukraine for hiking, Intourist day tours, Sergey Sorokin's hiking and guided tours, as well as the Vremena Goda for spa treatments that includes chocolate massages.

There are a variety of restaurants and cafes in Yalta, all offering a wide range of cuisines as well as snacks.  Recommended places are: Pelmennaya, Apelsin Club, Khutorok Lya Mer, White Villa, The grand Terrace Restaurant, Soup House and Harem, to name a few.  Numerous accommodation and room types are also available and affordable to the visitors.  This includes the Oreanda Hotel, Palmira Palace Hotel, Respect Hall Resort Hotel, Bristol Hotel, Villa Elena Hotel and Residences, Chaynaya Gorka Hotel, and many more.
